Katherine (Kate) Field practices commercial litigation, advising and representing clients in disputes related to contracts, oil and gas and energy, real estate, and business practices. Kate has experience representing and defending clients in a wide variety of cases, including contract and business disputes, tort claims, bankruptcy and restructuring, and employment matters. Kate has drafted numerous successful dispositive motions on cases before the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado resulting in the dismissal of all claims against her clients. Additionally, Kate has substantial discovery experience, including taking and defending depositions of lay and expert witnesses, as well as defending depositions of Rule 30(b)(6) corporate representative witnesses.

Prior to joining Lewis, Bess, Williams & Weese, Kate clerked for the Honorable Justice Allison H. Eid on the Colorado Supreme Court, worked for large law firms in Chicago and Denver, and served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. Before attending law school, Kate was a paralegal with the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division in Washington, D.C.

Kate received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Kate is admitted to practice in Colorado.
