Devin Daines focuses his practice in the areas of employment, energy and complex commercial litigation.  He has first chair experience at virtually every stage of the legal process.  Through persuasive written and oral advocacy, Devin has successfully secured early settlements, judgments, trial verdicts, appellate victories and other favorable outcomes for individual and corporate clients.  While Devin achieves positive litigation results, he is aware of the importance of posturing cases for effective negotiation and resolution.

Devin advises employers regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws and defends them against discrimination and wrongful termination claims.  Devin gained his litigation experience in a wide variety of disputes.  Some representative matters include non-compete and non-solicitation issues with former employees; multi-million dollar franchise, international securities and estate litigation and arbitration; products liability suits involving heavy machinery and electrical equipment; high stakes oil and gas cases concerning breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation, mineral partitions, royalty payment disputes, alleged environmental exposure, and; contentious business dissolutions and business torts.
Prior to joining Lewis Bess Williams & Weese, Devin was a litigation associate at the Denver office of a national law firm.  While in law school, Devin completed federal clerkships with Judge Thomas Hardiman in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and with Judge Nora Fischer in the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Devin co-authored the Colorado chapter of the 2017 edition of Wage and Hour Laws: A State-by-State Survey (ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law / Bloomberg BNA). Devin has also authored publications for the Rocky Mountain Landman, the West Virginia Law Review, and was cited in a decision by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.
