Attorney Lalonnie Gray Joins Lewis, Bess, Williams, & Weese P.C.

Lewis, Bess, Williams, & Weese P.C. is pleased to announce that LaLonnie Gray joined the firm as an associate on April 17, 2018. LaLonnie is a member of the Firm’s employment and litigation practices and will continue her work on behalf of national and regional companies in all areas of employment law and commercial litigation.

LaLonnie joins the Firm after spending more than two years with the Denver office of Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete LLP, a national employment law boutique. LaLonnie has represented clients throughout the litigation process in single-plaintiff lawsuits and class/collective actions. She has defended claims brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, Title IX, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Colorado Wage Act, and Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act. LaLonnie routinely defends employers against employment-related claims and charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Colorado Civil Rights Division.

Prior to entering private practice, LaLonnie served as the judicial law clerk to the Honorable Christine M. Arguello of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. While clerking, LaLonnie wrote numerous draft opinions and bench memoranda and assisted with jury trials and motions hearings. Prior to her clerkship, LaLonnie practiced at a boutique litigation firm in Denver and was a judicial intern to the Honorable Monica M. Marquez of the Colorado Supreme Court. LaLonnie graduated from the University of Denver in 2014 where she served as the Symposium Editor of the Denver University Law Review.

LaLonnie is on the Board of Directors of Law School Yes We Can, a pipeline program that targets high-achieving college freshman from diverse backgrounds and prepares them for law school.

“LaLonnie is a fantastic addition to our employment and commercial litigation groups,” said Bronwyn Pepple, co-managing Director of the firm. “With her background clerking in a federal district court and handling numerous matters at all stages of litigation, LaLonnie immediately becomes a critical part of our busy litigation practice,” said Janette Ferguson, a Director in the firm’s litigation group.
